The Need for Digital Spot UV and Foiling
Refine Printing saw the rapid shift to short run on-demand print over the last few years and had been actively looking for a digital post-press machine that is able to apply digital embellishments onto their printing jobs. This is also part of Refine Printing’s strategy to become a one-stop print provider to shorten turnaround times for spot UV and foiling finishing.

MGI JETvarnish 3DS – The Winning Solution
The JETvarnish 3DS is a cutting-edge machine that takes digital embossing and hot foil stamping to the next level with its spot UV printed sheets and spectacular foil effects all within a full digital process. It utilises MGI’s patented inkjet and hot foil stamping technology to provide digital spot UV coating with thickness of up to 200 microns and embossed foil textured effects. Being compatible with offset or digital prints, the spot UV can be applied with or without lamination. Supporting media weights from 135gsm to 450gsm, it gives additional marketing opportunities for sales teams to offer unique and distinctive services.
